Buddhist
Center of Dallas is a Theravada Buddhist Temple and
located at 8484 Stults Road,
Dallas,
TX 75243.The telephone number is (214) 340-6187 and fax
number is (214) 340-5165.
This
temple was established more fifteen years on January 25,
1982 by group of Buddhist Monks who came from Thailand to
visit the Dallas area. After meeting with members of the
local community in Dallas. It was decided that a Buddhist
Temple would be established to serve the Thai population
which was anticipated to grow significantly in future
years.
The
primary purpose of the Buddhist Temple (Wat Thai) is to
provide traditional activities and
ceremonies
along with being a local resource for individuals
interested in Buddhism and related
meditation
principles.
Objectives
1.
Morning & evening chanting, practic meditation for
public who participate.
2.
Every Sunday is arranged Buddhist Holy Day, lay people
bring food for monks before
lunch,
they will accept five Precepts and morning chanting while
monks have lunch.
3.
Arragne monks from Thailand have a chane to visit
Buddhist Center of Dallas and give a
lecutre
about Buddhism for lay people.
4.
Reception American or students who visit temple and would
like to learn more about
Buddhism
& Thai cultrues.
5.
Distribution Buddhist publications, cassete tapes and any
media for lay people who are really
interested
in Buddhism.

Publication "Dallas San" every three months for
members of temple so they can learn and
get
new ideas also publish temple activities, donors and
income-expenses discriptions.
6.
Send the person who well knows about Buddhism go to the
public such as school,
university
and institution to have outside lecture.
Daily Activities
08:00
a.m. Morning Chanting, approximately 30 minutes.
11:00
a.m. Religious ceremony and food offering to the monks,
one hour.
06:00
p.m. Evening Chanting and Meditation, one hour.
Monthly
Group
discussion about Buddhism on the first Sunday of each
month at 03:00 p.m.
Weekends
Thai
cultural and language studies for children (K-12) on
Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m.
